I hate how dirty this area gets

The bearing still has oil residue on it\u2605
\nTime to swap it out for a double-sided seal! This way the grease inside lasts as long as possible.
\nNo “C” specification required.

I originally planned to finish the rear maintenance too,
\nbut the conversation ran so long we only got to the rear wheel

Grease coming loose and brown discoloration

The oil seal needs replacing too\u2605
\nSpinning it in this condition creates super friction!
\nThe steel collar wears down and creates contact marks, so I’ll lightly skim the seal with a stone rotary tool.
\nAs for how much effect that has, I’d say it’s more of a “peace of mind” level.

It fits by hand, so there’s no need to tap it in
\nAdding grease inside the lip should make it feel a bit smoother.
