So there I was today on a JR train
\nwhen I noticed the zipper on my Incase Ari Marcopoulos Camera Bag was open
\nI swung the bag around to the front and\u2014BOOM!
\nMan, that was a seriously loud noise\u2026
\nLike dropping a heavy chunk of lead!
\nOh no\u2026 I did it\u2026
\nThe lucky breaks
\n\u2022 It was a 70\u2013200, so it only fell about 50 cm to the floor
\n\u2022 The lens cap was on
\n\u2022 Being inside a train meant the floor had some shock absorption
\nI mean, it’s not exactly lucky that it fell in the first place
\nbut it’s one of those “blessing in disguise” situations
\nwhere you have to find that small silver lining in the negative.
\nSo

this cylindrical tube between the two gold dots has
\nthreads cut into it with a lock (locked in the position shown in the photo)

and that’s what loosened and fell\u2026
\nI was thinking about using thread locker because it scared me
\nbut I should really make a stopper so it can’t come loose.
\nStill though\u2026
\n\u2022 The lock came loose
\n\u2022 Something pushed on the carabiner in just the right way
\nHow does that even happen?
\nIf it had been concrete, it would’ve been game over \u2605 meow
