So this morning it’s “goodbye HID".”

Lately we’ve been getting beaten up pretty badly by cheap HID kits,
\nso we’ve decided not to install HID systems anymore.
\nThe main issue might just be coincidence, but there are a lot of failures.
\nMost of the time the burner’s “HI\/LOW” switching doesn’t work properly, and when you take it apart the internal wiring is all tensioned up and such…
\nThen there’s the problem of ballast placement.
\nNo matter how thin it is, we don’t want to put it around the front,
\nand I heard the other day that noise can cause interference, so we want to avoid installing it near the digital meter…
\nThat means we end up running it from near the battery all the way forward in this weird way,
\nand it gets messy under the tank.
\nSince the HID was going to be wired direct to the battery, I wanted to check various things.

Two types of bulbs from Raybrig (Stanley): clear bulbs.
\nI haven’t measured it, but the ones with blue coating usually give disappointing results, so we’re going with no coating.

\n3) Racing Hyper Halogen Racing Clear
\n4) Plus direct-to-battery wiring
\nAlright! That’s what I thought, but the headlight beam adjustment wasn’t working right,
\nso I couldn’t get it done today and had to put it on hold.
\nThis time I just did the installation, but it’s looking pretty good.
\nIt’s nice when a headlight “passes inspection as-is”
\nand “doesn’t fail” and is “lightweight and compact.”
