The rust is progressing rapidly. I’ve cleaned it all off\u2014it rusts easily, so please oil it regularly.

I slide the dust seal aside and oil the oil seal and metal rubber together.
\nIt moves smoothly now!

This inverted section has a terrifyingly high initial spring rate, so I’ll cut the collar and reduce the preload a bit.
