Well, the tank arrived, so it’s time to install it.
\nEven on a vehicle purchased as new, the tank will rust a bit over time.
\nIt’s mostly not a problem, but occasionally rust can cause overflow.
\nWith chrome tanks like the GSF1200, the inside always rusts when you chrome plate them. It rusts quite a bit.
\nI was cheap about it and had a rough time. I ended up with a strange problem.
\nAnyway, setting that aside

It’s a coating like this paint\u2014a silver pebbled finish.

I used to buy rust remover and use it often back in the day, and it does remove rust to some extent,
\nbut rust forms again between rinsing and drying.
\nEven if it starts small, it grows and gets bigger over time.
\nI’d like to say, take care of it before you’re stuck somewhere, but I can’t keep the bike for this kind of work.
