Well then, today I’m heading to the Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum\u2026
\nThey’re running an exhibition called The World of Perfume Bottles.
\nI’m not particularly interested in perfume itself, but rather in the sculptural forms on display.
\nIt’s close to JR Meguro, so it’s within walking distance.
 
\n
 
Photography is prohibited, which is a bit of a shame,
\nbut the collection ranges from ancient pieces dating to 2972\u20132647 BCE from the Early Dynastic Period all the way to 21st-century items.
\nEven though it’s a weekday, there were quite a few people!

The building was originally constructed in 1933 (Showa 8) as the Asaka no Miya residence,
\nand it’s extremely modern and substantial\u2014really cool as a structure!
 
\n
 
The sunlight comes in beautifully, and it’s nice and warm.
