We can’t assemble the caliper until the parts arrive, so we’ll stop here for now.
\nIn the meantime, we’re making a stainless steel mesh brake hose \u2605
\nSince it’s hand-assembled, it’ll cost a bit more than off-the-shelf options, but it fits beautifully and if you swap out the olive inside,
\nyou can change the hose length and routing again later,
\nso if you’re going to puncture cheap aluminum a few times, I’d say it’s a one-shot deal.
\nNow, there are quite a few bikes out there with twisted hoses installed.
\nIf the banjo and fitting directions are correct, the hose will describe a gentle arc
\nand look natural.
\nUsing a T-fitting instead of two lines coming out of the master cylinder looks much cleaner.
\nIf you change the handlebars and run short on length, you can just remake the section above the stem (between stem and master)
\nand it’ll fit perfectly again.
\nThe shop that carried unmarked matte black shrink tubing went under, and now there’s barely anywhere left…
