Honda has dramatically fewer Decoboco issues.
\nThis CBR1100XX is heading to Kyushu for a tour, so it’s time for maintenance.
\nThe bike has about 27,000 kilometers on it.
\nSince we don’t have all the parts, we’ll do what we can.
\nLever assembly \u2605
\nRemove, clean, grease up, check the lever operation, and tighten\u2014all good.
\nPedal assembly \u2605
\nThe shift side is direct-mounted, so we’ll skip it.
\nThe brake pedal area is pretty dirty too.
\nClean up the pedal shaft and the master cylinder connection point, then oil them.
\nSmooth and slick! \u266a
\nThrottle cable & throttle sleeve \u25a1
\nSince we can’t remove it without the handlebar, we took the whole bar off and pulled it out. \u2605
\nClean it up and apply a thin, even coat of oil to the inside of the sleeve and the handlebar.
\nOil the cable too, and we’re done.

\nIt feels amazing if you occasionally remove it, wash it, and apply a thin coat of grease.
\nOiling the spring above and below helps a bit too.
