When the new year arrives,
\nit becomes disappointing again.
\nThe beginning of 2010
\nEven when people say “Have a good year~\u266a” at year’s end,
\n"good things don’t just come on their own, and whether things turn out well or poorly is determined by daily accumulation.”
\nSo I get all cynical about it.
\nVague passage of time has no meaning in itself,
\nso every year I set goals like “I’m going to do this!” \u2606
\nWhen I look at various numbers and past events,
\nthat season was summer . . .
\nThe year just started, but already I can see the end of 2010 not so far away,
\nso I drink beer.
\nWell, there’s blue tax filing in February and hay fever starts around March~
\nThen it gets hectic before Golden Week, and once things settle down the rainy season arrives,
\nthen summer . . . my heart is moved by the sound of cicadas,
\nand I’m enchanted by the pleasant autumn,
\nthen cold winter comes and it’s all over.
