\nWe didn’t finish in one day due to parts ordering and other work, so here’s a wrap-up.
\nMileage is around 20,000 kilometers.
\nIt seems young for its model year, doesn’t it?
\nThe legendary oil-cooled cam scuffing was found on the intake and exhaust sides.
\nWe rarely see scuffed bikes these days, so that’s great!
\nThe valve clearance wasn’t way off, but we tightened the cam chain by about two notches.
\nThe auto tensioner can’t tension as much as you’d think, so we crank while checking the tension all around.
\nWe tension it carefully. Too loose is bad, but too tight is even worse\u2014it puts stress on the tensioner and chain.
\nSo please don’t over-tension it carelessly.
\nThe engine damper wear is moderate\u2014it looks like it was never removed before.
\nThe bolts were seized and wouldn’t come out.
\nThe carburettor has been swapped for an FCR, so we slightly modified the manifold to install a vacuum port plug.
\nNow we can sync it with a vacuum gauge.
\nIf we had to remove it and check by eye every time, there’d be no end to it, and sync drifts surprisingly fast, so regular checks feel really good.

\nWe also replaced the generator damper and nuts\u2014no looseness or wear, everything looks good.
\nIt’s on our menu, so we’ve done the parts replacement.
\nI think it’s improved a lot!
