\nIt’s still a fairly new bike.
\nThere’s nothing seriously wrong with it,
\nbut the owner noticed a few things that bothered them.\u2605
\nSo we got started on the maintenance work.
\nWe remove the levers, pedals, side stand and such, clean them up nicely, and apply a thin, even coat of grease.
\nHoping it stays in good shape for as long as possible.
\nWe also lubricate the throttle cable and clean up the throttle sleeve.
\nIt’s surprising how often they get rusty or have grease buildup that makes them stiff.
\nSo we apply a thin, even coat of engine chain oil.
\nIt really does move smoothly after that.
\nWe clean up the calipers too, apply metal rubber to the pistons, and work them back and forth.
\nWe focus more on smooth return than even extension, working it carefully.
\nWe check the pad pin wear, inspect the pads, and chamfer them as needed.
\nThen we change the fluid and think, “Oh, that’s nice! The lever moves well and the feel is much better.”
\nAfter that comes the air filter, spark plug, synchronization, and so on.
\nIt’s pretty unglamorous maintenance work. It doesn’t make a dramatic difference, but even a tiny bit
\nwe try to make the owner feel like “Hey, it’s better now!” We work at it carefully.
\nTired bikes feel a lot better mentally, so it’s actually pretty rewarding.
