I’ve heard they’re pretty loud, so I’m not too surprised.
\nThe loudest case was when the guide was broken.
\nIt’s hard to describe.
\nNext is rocker arm wear.
\nThat’s also pretty grating on the ears.
\nMotorcycles are machines, and wear patterns vary completely depending on mileage and how they’re treated.
\nTen thousand kilometers in a year versus ten thousand kilometers in three months results in different wear patterns.
\nIt also depends on how the bike is handled and how often maintenance is performed.
\nSo about rocker arm wear:
\nThe contact surface has a gentle radius.
\nThis can wear down as shown in the photo.
\nThe noise won’t go away even if you adjust the valve clearance, so when you’re doing valve maintenance, it’s a good idea to also check the cam and rocker arm contact area.
\nI think that would be better.
