The transmission engages sometimes and doesn’t other times\u2026
\nHuh? What’s going on with it?
\nUsually when they bring it in, the symptom doesn’t show up.
\nThat happens a lot.
\nWell, you know.
\nWe do see return springs break or transmission slip, but cases like this are pretty rare.
\nThe transmission structure is simple, so I don’t think it’s anything major.
\nWhen I checked it, it would occasionally catch and rattle up and down.
\nA pawl was catching in a weird spot\u2026
\nI looked at the parts, but they weren’t worn that much.
\nI figured I’d grab a new one just in case.
\nWhen I looked at it, the shape was different. Is it a revision? Who knows?
\nThe shift side seal was leaking too, so I replaced that.
\nI took it for a test ride and no problems, so we’ll keep an eye on it.
