I gave the brake shoe replacement I received yesterday a try \u2605
\nI’ve never done it before, so it’s a fresh experience.
\nWheel removal\u2014I undid the simple lever lock and loosened it with a hex wrench, and pop!
\nIt came right off.
\nI cleaned the rim with brake cleaner to remove any friction material buildup.
\nI just chamfered the edge and assembled it, but something felt off.
\nIt seemed to be dragging, so I puzzled over it, staring at it.
\nWait\u2014it’s cut in a V-shape!
\nSo it has a pivoting structure.
\nThen
\nI raised it to the effective outer diameter and tightened it while holding it.
\nThen I adjusted the cable and finished.
\nAll right, all right\u2014it’s fixed, fixed! Glad that worked out.
\nIt seems to brake better now, and the wheel rolls easier too.
\nThe ride home should be fun \u2605
