I’ve got front and rear lights on the bike.
\nThe front is pretty bright\u2014moped level!
\nThe rear is red.
\nThese things would look cooler without them, but they make it easier for cars to spot me.
\nThe idea is to light up side streets and intersections without traffic signals.
\nI don’t want to get hurt over something silly, you know.
\nBikes are vulnerable road users, so if I hit a car or motorcycle it’s one thing, but if it’s a pedestrian, that’s a real problem.
\nI’ve got special coverage through insurance, so I’m protected.
\nAs you get older, you want to play it safe.
\nThe tail lamp is held on by an O-ring alone, and if you look closely, there’s a crack in it\u2026
\nOh no.
\nFinding the same size would be a hassle, so I made one with a 2mm bungee cord I just picked up.
\nI just melted both cut ends with a soldering iron and stuck them together\u2014that’s it.
