\nHistoric tournament participants: 3 people
\nApparently this doesn’t count as a real tournament, but we went fishing anyway.
\nEven for someone like me who loves the heat, it was scorching and intense!
\nLet’s get started \u2605
\nDecoboco, the boss, and Ninpoko\u2014three of us kicked things off \u2605
\nThe boss nailed the hole shot\u2014impressive! \u2605
\nNinpoko chased after him and came back with a catch and release\u2014that’s pretty cool too!
\nAs for me… two hours in and I had nothing \u266a That’s just like me!
\nI kept running into trouble with the fishing rods. One had tangled line that frayed instantly, another had a broken float that couldn’t be adjusted,
\nand looking closer, one had terrible weights, and another snapped the moment I touched it\u2014I swapped out about seven rods total (100 yen each).
\nI was basically complaining the whole time\u2014even when I heard “Again?”\u2014but I didn’t get mad, no way.
\nSince two hours wasn’t going to cut it, we decided to keep going to the end and settle it by final weight!
\nThe boss got cornered by someone from the workshop next door and got lectured.
\n“Don’t do it that way! Do it like this!” they said, and even changed his settings. The boss had been doing pretty well up to that point,
\nbut then he dropped out of the competition.
\nNinpoko came up with a fishing method\u2014long-line edge fishing\u2014that not many people do because it’s rare to get the chance, and he and the boss
\nwere in a dead heat!
\nWhat a surprise dark horse! \u2605
\nAnd whenever a fish took a long time to land, everyone would
\nchant “Paj-jeh-ro \u266a Paj-jeh-ro \u266a Paj-jeh-ro \u2605” Come on, paj-jeh-ro!
\nWe couldn’t stop laughing while fishing.
\nIn the end, we’d been fishing for five hours. I had some regrets wondering if I could have spent my time more meaningfully,
\nbut Decoboco managed to pull off a comeback victory.
\nSince I started with nothing after two hours, the catch wasn’t worth writing about.
