We’ve got a motorcycle inspection from the morning…

\nMorning started smooth with a nice rumble\u2605Engine fired right up.
\nI had something to do at Togashi’s place, so I stopped by first thing and cut the engine, but luck ran out…
\nIt won’t start!
\nPushed it up the hill and bump-started it on Route 7! Engine fired up. All good.
\n“I’ve got to just dash through without shutting it off.”
\nWhen I got to the tester shop… it’s pretty dark in here. Anyway, I’ll check up, down, left, and right.
\nLucky thing\u2014no one’s waiting at the stamp counter, paperwork, or inspection course, so I roll in with the engine running\u266a
\nInspection’s done and I’m rambling on to the customer…
\n“It’s overheating! Hurry up!”
\nI’m waving the clipboard and beeping the horn when another bike pulls in!
\nThe “headlight insufficient brightness” light comes on\u2014no good.
\nBack to the tester shop factory and I slap on a “trick bulb.”
\n“Let me just check it on the tester,” they say, and the engine… won’t start~
\nAround 10:50 AM, I kept at it until noon but no luck.
\nMorning’s a bust… Customer calls: “I’m out front of the shop. What time do you think?”
\nI explain and ask them to wait.
\nIn this heat, kicking like a demon, my jeans and shirt are soaked with sweat… I head to the park to cool the engine and take a break.
\nThere’s some weird young guy doing what looks like tai chi at a tree for ages.
\nSand’s blowing around and it’s annoying.
\nAnyway, I cool it down until 12:40 and “here goes\u2014kick!”
\nIt fires right up… come on, seriously?
\nSo I get it tested and there’s still time, but when I shut it off… it won’t start again.
\nWell, I’ll cool it down~ I grab a shaved ice nearby and cool myself off.
\nNow when I try to put the key in, someone’s stuffed resin in the keyhole and the key won’t go in!
\nWho did this?! Damn it!!! I push it back to the tester shop and drill it out…
\nAm I just unlucky? I’m really feeling my own weakness… Anyway, I push it to the motor vehicle bureau.
\nIn this blazing heat… but there’s a nice breeze so it’s actually not too bad.
\nHope it’s not crowded in the afternoon…
\nNobody’s here! Awesome~ I hand in the paperwork for re-inspection and “kick\u266a”\u2014it won’t start.
\nWhat the heck, I really went for it and it fired up\u2605Passed inspection and headed to the office to get the valid stamp…
\nI hand over the paperwork but they’re going on about the car tester’s light output and won’t move forward…
\nFinally got the valid stamp. Now to grab the inspection certificate and sticker from the bike…
\n“Pssst! Sputter!” Again… sigh.
\nPush it back to the tester shop to return the bulb… After returning it, I’m standing in the twilight with the oxygen bottle I brought.
\nKick demon mode\u2014start! Finally made it back to the shop!
\nBut I jump right into repairs… I’ve kept the customer waiting two hours already.
\nSorry about that.
