There’s no item for our shop’s inspection and maintenance…
\nI think it’s because people who have been riding bikes for a long time can request maintenance on their own judgment\u2014
\nBut there are those who aren’t like that, and surprisingly, many don’t check things.
\nAs everyone gets older, leisure time decreases and we can’t spend as much time on bikes alone.
\nSo I decided to try doing a thorough check on my own bike today.
\nI figured that having more inspection items isn’t necessarily better, so I gave it a try.
\nThat led to a simpler checklist.
\nIt came down to brakes, intake, ignition and electrical, sliding parts, and adjustments.
\n\u3010Brakes\u3011
\nFront and rear caliper cleaning, pad pin cleaning (or replacement), pad chamfering, piston operation inspection,
\nbrake disc cleaning, fluid replacement (from all nipples), diaphragm cleaning (or replacement)
\n(clutch models also include clutch)
\n\u3010Intake\u3011
\nAir cleaner inspection\/cleaning or replacement, carburetor\/FI synchronization, PS adjustment
\n\u3010Ignition and electrical\u3011
\nSpark plug inspection or replacement, spark plug cap inspection, voltage generation inspection, lighting inspection, ground inspection\/cleaning,
\nbattery charging
\n\u3010Sliding parts\u3011
\nThrottle\/clutch\/choke cable lubrication\/adjustment, lever\/pedal lubrication
\nDrive chain cleaning\/lubrication\/adjustment
\nThat’s about where it stands…
\nBeyond that, it becomes major maintenance\u2014one thing leads to another.
\nFork oil replacement, and while you’re at it, remove the stem too\u2014
\nAnd then you end up doing the swingarm as well.
\nJust a rough outline for now…
