I’d been thinking I’d take the bike out if it warmed up starting yesterday, and sure enough it turned out nice!
\nSo I thought, why not hit up a hot spring? Just a quick one!
\nA public bathhouse would’ve been fine too, honestly.
\nI don’t like the Tomei Expressway, so I searched around the Yokohama-Yokosuka route to see what was out there, and I managed to find something.
\nSome hotel or other http:\/\/www.maholova-minds.com\/
\nWell, it’s good enough! So I headed out on the GSF\u2605
\nThe weather was great and the bike was running smooth! Route 3 \u2192 Shin-d\u014d \u2192 Yokohama-Yokosuka in that order.
\nBut while I was on Route 3, the TMS tire pressure display started acting weird again?
\nThe front keeps dropping! It’s below 2.0 kpa\u2014something’s off?
\nThe bike felt a bit heavy too…
\nOnce I got on the Yokohama-Yokosuka, it was down to 1.85 kpa… I was like, come on, is this okay? But I kept riding at a decent pace anyway.
\nI continued on.
\nIt was a weekday so the road was empty and felt great.
\nBut I was still worried about the air pressure!
\nThen some sedan behind me kept flashing its high beams at me! Huh? Me?
\nI don’t remember passing anyone, and I wasn’t going that fast! I was planning to go all the way to Sawara, but I got off at Zushi instead.
\nEven on the highway exit curve when I got off, the bike wouldn’t lean at all! This is bad news!
\nThe tire is seriously flat… ugh.
\nWhen I checked my mirror, that sedan had followed me all the way to Zushi!
\nThe air pressure… ugh. I went through the ETC gate and somehow ended up on the Toyo-Enoshima Expressway by mistake.
\nHmm. Mistake #1\u2014should’ve gotten off on a regular road.
\nAnyway, a lot happened\u2014my hot spring trip turned into a coastal Enoshima tour instead, and I was bummed out.
\nI pumped air at a gas station and bingo\u2014it was leaking. Damn it!
\nI knew about the recall and took precautions, but it looks like I’ll have to stop it with a more reliable method.
\nI headed out along the coast, took a break, drank some coffee I didn’t even want, took some photos, and came back.
\nI thought about grabbing food at Enoshima, but the air pressure kept nagging at me.
\nWhen I got back on Route 3, it started dropping again\u2014come on, seriously?
\nBy the time I got to Tokyo, the front was down to 1.85 kpa, and the rear was at 8.7 kpa???
\nWhat is this? It’s crazy! Seriously.
\nI replaced the unit with a new one and did the sensor matching, so it’s probably the sensor after all…
\nIt turned out to be a pretty strange outing.
