With the oil-cooled book shipments finished, Decoboco is taking a breather\u2026
\nBut we’ve got to keep grinding away steadily as we head into year-end!
\nToday we installed a CR SPL on the Katana\u2605 It looks sharp with that mag vibe.
\nThe switch is a modified OEM part\u2014the Katana originally only has a single-pull, but most switches have the same body,
\nso the body can be adapted.
\nWe buy a switch from a parts bike and use only the lower section (the one with the throttle) and install it into the OEM unit.
\nThe benefit is that the switch works just as smoothly as stock and the throttle cable is also OEM,
\nso it can be adapted and sourced right away.
\nYou don’t have to go through the hassle of fitting an expensive aftermarket switch and throttle kit.
\nThe downside is hunting down the right cable to adapt\u2026
\nCable length and the angle of the carburetor-side mounting point, that sort of thing.
\nThe carburetors from BITO are excellent\u2014the angle of the throttle cable mounting point is top-notch\u2605
\nThey’re tuned for each bike model, so there’s no strain on the throttle cable, which means the throttle is light\u266a
\nAnd it returns smoothly\u266a Positive open-close action is important in this regard, I’d say.
\nIf I had to nitpick, I’d want the spigot a bit shorter.
\nIt’s top-notch!
\nThis Sunstar and Brembo brake setup is spot-on\u2605 I thought it wouldn’t be that powerful, but I was wrong!
