I sincerely apologize! I had no idea when we took it in last weekend that the work would stretch from Thursday through today\u2026
\nIt’s an early GSF1200 with 57,000 km on the clock.
\nNow, when we popped off the head cover, what did we find\u2026
\nOh! “Ron is here\u266a” Both the IN and EX valves are worn\u2605
\nIt’s not severe, but there’s wear about the size of sesame seeds, so keep an eye on it!
\nThe valve clearances aren’t way off and everything looks good (we’ll readjust them all anyway).
\nThe cam chain tension is solid and the knocking is good too.
\nThe carburettor sync was a bit off, so we adjusted it and checked the pilot screw as well.
\nThe engine damper is so-so\u2605 We swapped the mounting bolts to stainless steel and cleaned things up.
\nWe filled it with Newtech NC41 10W-50 engine oil\u2605
\nThe popping from the rear was probably because the rubber cap on the carburettor sync was missing, so secondary air was
\nbeing sucked in from there.
