Lately wheel prices have dropped and the value for money has become incredibly high!
\nIn the old days, wheels meant mag wheels as a matter of course, but lately forged wheels that bolt right on are standing out.
\nWhat kind of wheel is good? Well, lighter is always better.
\nLately carbon and other materials are increasing, and I can’t hide my amazement at the progress in technology (though they existed back in the ’90s).
\nNow, when I choose a wheel, the first thing I look at is what shape the rear is.
\nThe damper shape (round or fan-shaped)
\nHow the damper is held in place (built into the wheel itself, sprocket damper, or clamped with bolts)
\nThe sprocket carrier bearing (double-row bearing or single-row?)
\nSprocket compatibility (chain size and material)
\nThose are the four points. Since wear parts exist no matter what you replace, I prefer items that can be sourced quickly.
\nFor example, there’s no way I’d wait two months for a sprocket that’s out of stock.
\nTo avoid that, machining from blank is an option, but the unit cost goes up and it’s not ideal.
\nThe same goes for calipers\u2014I think it’s best to use a caliper with lots of pad options.
\nOf course, considering piston operation and other factors would make it even better.
\nEven though it’s pricey, I think Marchesini is the best.
\nFirst, they’re hard to crack\u2014that’s point one. The rear structure is beautiful (damper, double-row bearing)\u2014that’s point two.
\nThe price is stunning, but isn’t it peace of mind?
