Right now I’ve got a GSX-R600 side stand on there, and man\u2014it’s light and fantastic!
\nThe bike doesn’t lean over when parked, which is awesome\u2605, or so I thought… but then I found out it scrapes!
\nI saw a nice side stand on some GSF somewhere, and I was like, “Hey! What is that? Can I fit one?”
\nSo I dug around and did a bunch of research and found it!
\nSilver doesn’t look good, so let’s go black! I remember stainless steel had surface treatment options too.
\nI called around to about three places and found out… it’s expensive. The treatment alone runs close to ten grand, so that seemed ridiculous.
\nSo I ended up going with Nishimura Coating, but…
\nThe paint film thickness became a problem and required reworking.
\nIt’s about 0.2 mm thicker, so I had to bore out the inner diameter on a lathe to use it…
\nAlright, now I can adjust it!
\nBut the depth is different, so it doesn’t fit right…
\nSo I had no choice but to mill it out!

\nThe bolts are from the R600 so they look weird, but after the holiday break I’ll swap them out for GSF bolts and nuts and we’re done\u2605
