When we talk about fluids\u2026
\nThe classic: engine oil! Everyone can handle changing this one without a word \u2605
\nNext up are brake fluid and clutch fluid \u266a You don’t need to use fancy racing fluid!
\nAfter hard braking or every three to six months, you’ll want to swap it out.
\nIf you go too long without changing it, it turns to gel!
\nIt doesn’t cost much, so keep up with it regularly \u266a
\nThen there’s fork oil! Figuring out the right change interval is surprisingly tricky \u2605
\nIt’s a puzzle! At minimum, change it once a year\u2014or set your own schedule based on mileage \u2605
\nWhen fork oil gets dirty, the inside of the fork gets pretty grimy too. Severely contaminated internals won’t come clean without a full OH.
\nSo changing it before you smell rot is a must.
\nWhen you change fork oil, you can have fun tweaking the oil level and viscosity \u2606
\nThen there’s coolant \u2606 People really don’t change this! The color doesn’t degrade much, and in Tokyo folks don’t seem to worry about it.
\nThis one’s also once a year \u266a The seals where coolant flows are lubricated by the coolant itself, so if they degrade,
\nyou can end up with poor lubrication. The inside of the reservoir tank gets really filthy, so you’ll want to pull it out and give it a good wash.
