\nThanks to everyone’s help, we’re able to enjoy every event safely and happily, and I’m truly grateful for that.
\nSo, this was the first MCFAJ of the year, and while March typically has low temperatures and poor weather,
\nthis year started with cloudy skies and light rain the day before.
\nOnly the Boss’s GSF was running, but we struggled quite a bit getting the ST2 carburetor set up right!
\nWe’d already confirmed there was an issue from the previous run.
\nAfter returning from the 3\/10 run, we rushed to adjust the carburetor\u2026
\nSince I understood the dip symptom from this time, the fix was pretty straightforward.
\nTo eliminate the dip around 6000 rpm, I made two adjustments.
\n1. Lowering the needle position in this range and richening it helps smooth things out.
\n2. Since it’s a vacuum carburetor, the vacuum piston rises quickly, so slowing it down helps.
\nThose were the two points.
\nWith a stock vacuum carburetor, jet selection is limited\u2014it’s not like a TMR where you have more options.
\nWith no time to spare, I made several round trips on the ring road, and it got much better, so I called it good\u2026
\n(To be honest, I wouldn’t give it a perfect 100 for tuning, but there’s no way to finish it by next week)
\nThe worry seemed to disappear, but around that time, we started getting occasional fuel starvation issues,
\nso we decided to remove the filter at the track, which might have been the culprit.
\n\u3010Practice day\u3011 With the outside temperature quite low, we had to use warmers as we headed onto the track\u266a
\nFirst run, he knocked out a 2-minute lap right away, which was reassuring.
\nWe did one more practice session, changed tires during service, and wrapped up~
\nI really learned that bringing your own tires is cheaper than sourcing them on-site!
\nNothing went wrong and the day ended smoothly~, which is kind of amazing when nothing happens at all~
