Well, this evening we had some seriously harsh winds blowing again\u266a
\nThis morning, Kin-chan pulled off quite a feat by going to get the license plate (moped) registration on his own!
\nI handed it over last night and he got it registered the next day\u2606 I didn’t know he could move that fast . . .
\nBut then a problem came up! Around 11 a.m., Kin-chan called and asked, “Is the license plate yellow?”
\nNo way, it’s white! “But I got a yellow one . . .”
\nI looked at the documents I’d copied last night and . . . it said 53cc.
\nIt was one of those modified 50cc bikes with a yellow license plate.
\nI hung up and made out a displacement change form, then called the ward office.
\nSo, um, uh, blah blah blah\u2014anyway, I’m going to fax over the supporting documents right now, so that should be fine, right?
\nI kind of forced the conversation along, and somehow it worked out\u2014we got the registration and I breathed a sigh of relief.
\nThe FZ was supposed to wrap up quickly, but the fork work finished and when we were installing the wheel, I checked the bearings.
\nOh no\u2014they were all rattling!
\nWe couldn’t assemble it, so I made a deal with the boss and had him pick up replacements (from Togashi Engineering).
\nAfter we finished swapping the wheel bearings, the wheel spun smoothly and I felt relieved\u2606
\nNow I installed the caliper and finished the front . . . wait, what?
\nNow the brake is dragging\u2014come on, you’ve got to be joking . . .
\nI remember\u2014I think we had a used caliper lying around and were planning to swap it in.
\nBut the condition was so bad that I had to pull it out and push it back in several times before I could get it to stop dragging,
\nand I really want to get it replaced soon.
\nAnd the rear caliper overhaul was also on the job list, and it was in terrible shape too . . . oh man, I’m telling you.
\nWe finished and bled the air . . . we use air to suck up the fluid all at once, so it usually goes really fast,
\nbut\u2014the pedal won’t go down! Whoosh\u2606
\nNow it’s stuck down! Oh man, oh man\u2014
\nAs I pump it up and down, this gel-like fluid comes spurting out with a “brrrriiiiing~” sound,
\nand after repeating this mess over and over, a job that should’ve been done by 2 p.m. ended up taking until 6 p.m.\u2014what a headache~
\nThat was the kind of day it was.
\nOne chain reaction of trouble after another~
\n“Girl Friend”\u2014the only analog album by Michelle Gun Elephant I don’t have . . . that’s the one in the photo.
\nIt was easy to get when it first came out, but I never picked this one up . . .
\nThere’s one on Yahoo Auctions right now for 7,000 yen\u2014what should I do? Hmm, I just collect analog stuff anyway,
\nso I just have it for the sake of having it~
