February 10th\u2014that day I was bringing home a T-Fal, and since the box was awkwardly large, I decided to avoid the hassle
\nby strapping it to the back of my scooter and pressing it against my back as I rode home.
\nOf course, I couldn’t wear my cart back (messenger bag), so I just shoved it into the helmet compartment.
\nSo far so good. My memory has always been as reliable as a chicken’s\u2014things vanish from my mind instantly, whether past or present\u2014
\nand it’s really a problem, so I depend heavily on my system planner and PC.
\nThat night was bitterly cold, but I really wanted to cook, so I absolutely had to go to Precce http:\/\/www.tokyu-store.co.jp\/pre
\nin Nakameguro. But the T-Fal was in the way, so I went home first to drop off the package
\nand warm up. I lounged around the house, cooked some rice, and decided to go shopping.
\nThe unusual thing that day was that I was wearing a Mackintosh jacket. It looks good, but this thing has zero insulation\u2014
\nI wore it during the day because it was warm, which was my first mistake! And I wore it shopping too.
\nThe pockets are pathetic; things fall out when you ride.
\nToo much trouble, so I took the scooter shopping. It was cold, so I jumped off and dashed into the store with my hands in my jacket pockets.
\nI ended up buying stuff wastefully and felt deflated. Anyway, I wanted fish, so I grabbed something!
\nOh! Fried tofu on sale! \u2605 Thick pieces, normally \u00a5360 each, half price for two! But they expire tomorrow.
\nI didn’t care and tossed them in the basket. Ground pork was half price too! Also expires tomorrow. And I agonized over the fish\u2014
\ntwo choices: mackerel glazed in mirin (half price, expires tomorrow) or one-night-dried horse mackerel (regular price)!
\nI couldn’t buy only stuff expiring tomorrow, so I picked the horse mackerel! I paid with my card and, since it was cold,
\nI dashed home, quickly made dinner, ate some pudding, took a bath, and went to bed.
\nWhen I got to the shop… wait? Where’s my Gigabeat? Did I put it in my bag yesterday? My pocket?
\nI remember holding it in my hand before I left, but I can’t remember what happened after! I remember shopping, but…
\nI thought it was at home, so after I got back I searched my jacket… nothing! Nothing! Nothing~~~
\nNo way! I’ve thrown away the wrong thing before, but I’ve never lost anything. And now I’ve lost it~
\nThis is bad! Man, this really sucks… Anyway, I went to get the RC30 inspected earlier, and it’s nice~
\nI was thinking V4 and all, but half my mind was on the Gigabeat. I thought hard, but nothing added up.
\nThe bag was in the helmet compartment, and nothing could fall out before I got home. As for my pocket, I rode pretty slowly all the way home,
\nso it couldn’t have fallen out. There’s nowhere to lose it between home and Precce\u2014it’s only a five-minute ride, and I had my hand in my pocket
\nthe whole time I was in the store! So it’s impossible.
\nBut it’s gone! Hmm… hmm… maybe I should just buy another one… I can’t make sense of this~
\nI sighed and checked my desk. Found it! For some reason, it was in a paper bag!
