I don’t need to mention that I went out on the GSF the other day.
\nSince there was no gas in it, I went to a nearby ENEOS to fill up! \u266a
\nPremium, full tank! The attendant was staring at the bike for some reason\u2014it happens all the time\u2014so I looked at the road
\nand gave off a vibe that I didn’t want to chat.
\nAttendant: Um, this is a Hornet, right?
\nMe: I hesitated for a moment\u2014should I ignore him, come up with a joke, or just answer honestly?
\nMe: It’s a GSF! I answered.
\nAttendant: Oh…
\nMe: [This guy doesn’t know the GSF!] Well, whatever, and I looked at the road again.
\nAttendant: Um…
\nMe: Huh? [This guy’s annoying.]
\nAttendant: Why did you modify it like this?
\nMe: …I mean, what kind of question is that? I didn’t know how to answer.
\nMe: Oh, I run it on the track. (Pretty half-hearted, honestly annoyed.)
\nAttendant: Oh, that’s why the meter is digital!
\nMe: [The meter has nothing to do with it!] …Yeah, I replied.
\nI’m never going back there.
\nThere was another time I went to a gas station with the GS1000S. Anyone with a sharp eye will figure this out.
\nOh, this is an Impulse, right? My buddy rides one too!
\nMe: Yeah, that’s right! \u266a It’s gotta be the 400, the 400! Water-cooled is the best, I answered.
\nAttendant: The Impulse really is nice!
\nMe: [I hate this guy! I want to leave.]
\nThe older attendant was staring too, and he brought the receipt over to the young attendant and said, “It says 1000 here
\non the side…”
\nAttendant: Oh! I’m sorry, it’s 1000, right? I’m sorry!
\nMe: [Well, even if you apologize, it’s weird.] No, no, don’t worry about it at all! \u266a
\nIt’s a 400!
\nAnd I remembered that moment! It’s nice to keep the conversation going and have some friendly rapport, but if they don’t know, they should just use simpler
\nadjectives to give compliments.
