This time it’s an engine from a GSX-R1100K!
\nIt’s a 78\u00d759 engine with 1127cc\u2026
\nThe rocker arm is a 2-valve, 1-rocker type (personally, I prefer this one).
\nWell, I took it apart and had a look\u2026 The carbon buildup varies quite a bit.
\nFor now, I’ve disassembled the head and cylinder (upper end) and soaked them in carbon solvent!
\nIn about a week, the head, valves, and piston should be sparkling clean.
\nAfter that, I’ll measure the piston and cylinder clearance and check what needs to be done.
\nFor the lower end, I’ll carefully match the bearings and replace the transmission bearings, then check the transmission.
\nSince it’s going into a GSF, I’ll need to replace the oil pan too!
