General affairs\u2014in other words, a jack-of-all-trades\u2014so I was wandering around here and there.
\nFirst off! I went to the post office to buy New Year’s greeting cards and 80-yen stamps.
\nThe post office, staffed by elderly people, is a gathering place for seniors.
\nI’m at counter number 2, and I line up without minding the elderly woman’s long order.
\nThen one middle-aged man and one elderly person came in. Of course they lined up behind me! That’s only natural, right?
\nThe elderly woman is paying public bills at the counter where you buy stamps and postcards!
\nThe receptionist (a woman, not a girl) is running back and forth here and there\u2026
\nThen a Japan Post delivery staff member came for a pickup and demanded a stamp, and everything got messy\u2026
\nI was thinking, “Man, this is taking forever,” when I realized the two people behind me weren’t there\u2014turns out they were at the public bill payment counter
\nbuying postcards and stamps! Come on, really?!
\nBut I shouldn’t get frustrated over something like this. After waiting about 20 minutes, I got what I needed!
\nNext was the bank for a passbook update and currency exchange. \u266a I look forward to exchanging my loose change at the bank every year! \u266a
\nOver 1,000 coins ranging from 1 to 500 yen. When I put it in my bag, I thought, “Whoa!! That’s heavy\u2026”
\nI arrived at the bank. \u266a Now then\u2026 the teller charges an exchange fee, so I’ll skip that!
\nI’ll steadily deposit it into my own account\u2026 100 coins at a time.
\nSince the coins are scattered, it takes an extra 5 minutes for them to be deposited, sorted, and recorded in my passbook. Honestly, it’s a hassle.
\nAfter depositing about five times, the machine stops accepting coins and won’t take any more!!
\nWhat the heck! I slide over to the ATM next door and feed the coins in. \u266a I wonder how long I was there\u2026
\nI was there for a whole hour! But the result made me grin! It should cover my mochi for the end of the year. ~
\nFrom there, I’m heading to Otori Shrine to buy wheel bearings for the Vario whose wheels I just took apart and sent out for painting.
\nThen I’ll head back to the shop and take a break. \u266a Though I don’t smoke, so for me it’s a warm cup of coffee.
\nI drink it and go “Ahhhh\u2026” Just then, the cameraman brought the photos from yesterday, and we’re making New Year’s cards.
\nI do various things to the photos in Photoshop (to the extent that I can do it. To be honest, it’s pretty rough.)
\nNext I’ll create the address labels using a free software tool. ~
\nIt’s amazingly convenient\u2014you can search from anywhere, and for something I threw together on the fly, it turned out pretty well, Your Highness! \u266a
\nAfter finishing everything, I’m grinning when the weekend shared “Prison Break” arrives at my desk! \u266a
\nOur exclusive bakery bakes it fresh for us! \u266a
\nI thought, “Let’s go grab some food!” but today I lent out the Foresight as a loaner,
\nso the third secret weapon, the “RVF400,” is deployed! Me, His Highness, and MJ ride through the cold Kan-Nana to “Chabuya” on Setagaya Street
