\nWell, first things first! This coming weekend, some folks are heading to FSW to blow off steam, so participants, do your best!
\nMe? I’m stuck waiting\u2014my wheels haven’t come back from paint yet, so I’m off the bike for a while.
\nI’m aiming to level up my skills with bicycle commuting, walking, and rock-paper-scissors!
\nLast night we had an epic “Sangenjaya GP” fishing tournament! The participants were Decoboco, the Village Chief, and Bogey\u2014three of us.
\nThe prize was a meal tour: last place gets 75%, second place gets 25%, and first place eats free.
\nSo we started. I was going at it steadily and stoically, and within the first 15 minutes I’d already landed five fish\u2014totally in control.
\nI hate watching other people fish, so I just kept my head down and stayed focused.
\nThen Bogey, on his first visit, actually caught something! He was right next to me, so I couldn’t help but notice…
\n“Seriously? You’re catching fish on your first try? Could you be the next Tom?”
\nThen a few minutes later… “Hey, that’s not allowed!” the staff called out. Yellow card!!
\n“Huh? Who’s getting in trouble?” I looked up, and it was Bogey with the yellow card!!
\nAre you serious? Are you serious? I’ve never seen anyone get a warning before, let alone heard about it! A yellow card on your first visit!
\nThat takes guts. Apparently he was fishing for fish on the surface without putting the float in the water.
\nFinal results: 1st place, Village Chief, 36 fish; 2nd place, Decoboco, 28 fish; 3rd place, Bogey, 17 fish.
\nSo we went for okonomiyaki, but it was past 10 p.m., so we had to settle for “Bochibo,” a casual spot.
\nWe had our okonomiyaki. After the three of us ate and got the bill, the staff said, “That’s 13,557 yen!”
\nJust as expected\u2014it’s hitting like a mahjong hand with all fives!
\nNext time we’re holding the Ichigaya GP. We’re looking for participants!
