The GSF1200 really does have clutch slipping issues! It got a lot better with the later diaphragm clutch design, but the slipping still happens as the miles add up.
\nThat’s where a smart solution comes in!
\nI’m embarrassed to admit I didn’t know until recently that FCC is actually a clutch company! So I used to avoid them.
\nBut if they’re professionals in clutches, then let’s trust them completely!
\nNow for the main topic! This time we’re covering the solution for the later diaphragm-type clutch. And it should end up cheaper than OEM parts.
\nHere’s what you need! An FCC clutch set (the earlier coil spring type) and OEM steel plates with T=2mm thickness.
\nThree plates (two would work, but three is the safe bet). The weight difference isn’t much. You’ll also need the gasket and
\ncenter nut, and the later type has three bolts, so grab those too!
\nThen swap out the FCC’s T=1.6mm plates for three OEM T=2mm plates and assemble it!
\nAfter that, just replace the clutch fluid properly and you’re done!
