Lately, it’s a sight I see often\u2014drive chain lubrication and adjustment.
\nIt’s not that I’m trying to sell “CPOR” or anything. People who keep their bikes clean have clean chains too.
\nThat’s proof they care about maintenance. Chains are pretty expensive parts, after all.
\nWhen a lot of people replace the chain and sprocket together and go for high-grade options,
\nit adds up to a real chunk of change.
\nThat’s why I want people to clean them more and give them some lubrication. The bike pushes differently right from the start, and throttle on-off
\njerkiness is reduced, chain wear is kept to a minimum, and it’s really easy on the wallet.
\nA bike that pushes light rides light too.
\n1] Check tire pressure (it’s good if you can set both a riding pressure and a high-speed pressure)
\n2] Chain adjustment, lubrication, and alignment (it’s best to also check tension when seated and when the pivot axle is level)
\n3] Caliper cleaning and fluid (remove debris so it moves smoothly, and refresh the fluid that heats up inside the caliper)
\nThese are simple things you can do every day, so you’ll want to check them before a tour or something.
\nOh, and a new lubricating spray just came out from Newtech! I’ll introduce it after I test it!
