Before heading to FSW this time, I tried out several new products.
\nSome of them felt really promising, so I wanted to report on them.
\nMetallic pads (Sunstar rotor)
\nThese felt really good.
\nI used to think Giccue was the best, but the bite response was fantastic.
\nAt 200 meters with the throttle off, braking was complete at a surprisingly early stage, so there’s still room to go.
\n(Though it might also depend on the caliper.)
\nMagical Racing tank pad
\nWhen you stick this on the seat, it doesn’t slip\u2014it’s an unconventional way to use it.
\nFor me, it keeps my hips from sliding on the seat, so good!
\nWhen I did full braking from over 200 kilometers per hour, my body would slide forward and my attention would go to places I didn’t want it to.
\nI hated that. It was tiring on my legs and lower back. But now?
\nThis time it was easy! I could really focus just on braking at turn one and deep into the 300R.
\nSo much easier! I want to swap the rear brake disc to Brembo! (There’s a rear one too, you know.)
\nBMC air filter
\nThis has less intake resistance than I expected. Maybe the same as a sponge filter or even better?
\nIt revved all the way up, so the top end is good, but I had to be careful when opening from fully closed.
\nIf you don’t handle the initial opening gently, it’ll make a “puff” sound, so I want to adjust that.
\nAlpinestars Kangaroo gloves
\nIncredibly soft. It’s my first circuit outing, and I’m wondering what I was using before???
\nGear needs to be light, soft, and safe. These are truly amazing.
\nI’ve used gold ones before.
\nAIM infrared sensor
\nPerfect!! I can’t use anything but infrared anymore!! Lap times always come out. The magnetic type had issues with batteries
\nand ground clearance and such.
\nThe wiring is clean too, so I recommend this one! Though you do need the transmitter every time.
\nNext time I’ll swap in fresh tires. I’ve been using them for nearly two years and I’m getting some critical looks.
\nTurns out if you don’t lean so hard, you won’t crash. Next up is engine bushing replacement.
\nVibration increases around 5,000 to 6,000 RPM, so they need replacing! Oil-cooled bikes need regular bushing changes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
