Because of the typhoon, laundry has piled up like crazy.
\nOur house has a two-tub washing machine\u2014a real throwback to the Showa era and such a hassle.
\nPeople say stuff like “the water bill is cheaper” or “two-tub machines clean better,” but that’s ridiculous.
\nThe real point is saving wasted time and using your hours efficiently.
\nIt takes almost forty minutes\u2014maybe an hour? And it’s so boring: wash, rinse, spin, hang dry.
\nYou have to stand by the machine the whole time.
\nOh, and here’s the thing about water bills\u2014there’s a fixed tier, and as long as you stay within it, you pay the same rate.
\nBack in the day, I tried to pinch pennies on the water bill by reusing leftover bathwater for laundry every time.
\nTwo months later, the bill was the same. After looking into it, I realized what was going on.
\nOnce the typhoon passes, autumn is right around the corner.
