The outside temperature is finally starting to feel like spring.
The cedar pollen seems to have let up a bit too.
I think this sluggish feeling will clear up soon.

Replacing the OEM intake manifold on a GSX1100S is a bit of a hassle.
This product solves that problem all at once\u2014it’s a fantastic item with positioning grooves that work on both sides.

Just align the groove with the position on the head side and the surface seats perfectly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here’s the thing: with the OEM version, getting this position right is a bit annoying.
Plus, the Unicorn Japan version is more affordable\u2014a shocking fact.
I definitely recommend using this one. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This one was pretty stiff too.
There’s some mysterious yellow staining that tells the story of the years… <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I used to use cable ties to slide it in smoothly,
but when I tried it again today after a while, it felt a bit annoying.

The cable tie just flops around and makes it tedious. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So I had an idea.
Wouldn’t a clear file folder be easier? So I cut one up and tried it right away.

And it worked amazingly well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you’ve done this job before, you know what I mean\u2014there’s absolutely no clearance to fit it in normally.

I mean,
only the Katana uses a sleeve like this, right? <\/strong>Well, since the OEM is set up this way, I install it every time, but I’m not really sure how necessary it actually is.

The carburettor goes in cleanly from the air cleaner box side.

You tend to instinctively insert it from the intake manifold side.
The air cleaner side doesn’t have ribs, so it doesn’t snap in like the intake manifold does.
If you set the intake manifold first and then try to attach the air cleaner box side, it won’t seat cleanly.

It’s easier to install the harder-to-fit side first while you still have plenty of room to move it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With that done, I took it for a test ride and we’re finished.
That nice stock feel of revving up smoothly is really satisfying. <\/p>\n\n\n\t\t
