I feel like this cheap Casio watch used to cost three digits back in the day.
When the battery dies, that’s goodbye\u2014it’s a bit sad that we live in such a throwaway era.

This watch is one my wife loves to use when she’s doing outdoor work.
The other day she handed it to me saying it wasn’t working and asked me to take a look.

Just open it with a thin, pointed precision minus screwdriver or similar tool. <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When removed, it looks like this.
It’s designed so that four bent arms snap it into place.

You can pry it open easily by inserting something thin and pointed at the base of the arms or in the gap. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Watch out for the button cell’s fixed arms. <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Basically it just sits in there, but there’s tension on it, so be careful about that. <\/strong>
In the image above, the arm at the “SR626SW<\/strong>” marking on the battery is bent in an L shape.
It’s easy to remove, but when replacing it, slide it in carefully. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What’s the difference between SR626 W and SW? <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

SR batteries come in two types with “SW” and “W” at the end.
“SW” is the commonly used battery. <\/strong>
“W” is a high-drain battery that uses potassium hydroxide <\/strong>
and is suitable for watches with alarms or lights.
Since the battery capacity of “SW” and “W” is the same, use whichever matches your watch. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That’s the deal. I’d say using SW is the safe bet. <\/p>\n\n\n\t\t
