It’s cold today, and there’s construction work going on at the factory side all the time.
I was thinking about doing some work in the yard, but I felt bad putting pressure on the workers, so

We’re going to replace the wheel bearings with double-sided seals. (Non-contact) <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I probably extracted a rare, aged bearing from back in the day.
I’m not a fan of single-sided seals because the grease tends to leak out.

The bearing must have been at its limit anyway. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The brake disk is also at its limit, so I removed it.

Suzuki’s wheel bearing press fit is a bit loose, isn’t it?
It might be a matter of wall thickness and depth, but sometimes you come across wheels with poor fit.
*Suzuki, that is.

Kawasaki and Honda have solid wheel bearing press fits,
and bearing position adjustment is very easy, which is nice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you want to feel the bearing spinning with your hand,
assemble it as shown in the image, tighten it firmly, and then you can feel it by hand-turning the shaft. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The axle shaft is a bit worn, but there’s no bend, so we’ll reuse it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With oil seals like this, you can look up the outer diameter, inner diameter, and width,
and if you can use modern ones, you can make it lower friction.

We’re not doing it this time,
but since we’ve gone with double-sided seal bearings, you could even lightly adjust the lip a bit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even a stainless steel wheel brush wouldn’t budge it,
and in the end I had to scrub it by hand.

I was shocked at how hard it was stuck with dirt. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two bead stoppers are fixed with M8 flanged bolts and lock nuts,
sandwiching copper gaskets inside and out.

No leaks and perfect. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michelin bias tires have very little runout <\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

It’s interesting to spin domestic bias tires in the air and check them.
Some of them have so much runout up, down, left, and right that it’s shocking.

Michelin, on the other hand, spins almost as cleanly as a radial tire, so I have absolute confidence in it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tire edge doesn’t roll in and describes a clean round.
It’s sure to have very natural and nimble handling.

The pattern is also pretty cool for a bias tire, so I think it looks great. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There’s a broken bolt stuck in the crankcase, so I’ll remove it before threading the chain.
