Here’s the GS1200SS, whose used market value is skyrocketing.
Come to think of it, I don’t think I’ve ever installed one before.
It’s designed to mount in the stock location, but that’s a pretty tight spot.
No matter what I try, this is the safest place without rewiring.
I thought about moving it further back, but then I realized there’s no “16-pin waterproof connector”!
There’s talk it might be a Yamaha OEM part, but…
I’m still checking.
I went with carbon for a quick fix—aluminum would work too, but I didn’t feel like going through the hassle of anodizing
so I used a carbon sheet I happened to have on hand ★
Ultra-low-profile cap bolts are really handy to have around.
And of course, the famous “3M Dual Lock Fastener”—I secured it with a quick snap.
It’s really strong, and you can combine and set multiple pieces together, which is great.
