The weather was nice, so I took it out to the neighborhood for a test ride.
You can feel the effect more if you set it up so you can plug and unplug it.
Before that, the plastic tank cap area looked dirty, so I wondered if there was anything I could do about it.
The sealing method looks pretty sketchy, so I don’t really want to touch it much.
Plus it’s fixed inside with a nut and washer, so removing it is risky considering it could fall off.
I cleaned it up as much as I could. Since it’s not gasoline-resistant paint, if I want to do a thorough job I’ll have to come back to it another day.
After that I went out for a test ride.
Plasma Booster turned ON for the first test ride.
I was thinking “well, is there even a difference?” and riding around here and there. I pushed some decent speeds where I could safely do so and cruised down some back roads.
Once I got a feel for how it felt with it installed, I did a test ride with it OFF.
Right away it was “overall rough with micro-vibrations, an uncomfortable feeling.” Heavy, sluggish acceleration like something was pulling from behind. Compared to before installation, it clearly felt worse. The Plasma V+ (16-16.5V boost kit) felt good too, but this one felt even more noticeable.
Around idle, I don’t notice any change in exhaust sound or idle speed.
It was a product that made me realize there’s still this much room for improvement with just electricity.
