I’ve never been able to predict which bikes become popular after production ends…

Today’s Inazuma work ended up a bit incomplete.
I got worried wondering if the pivot shaft would come out, so I gave it a tap.

We’ll remove the brake hose guide.

Back in this era it was all welding—efficiency! Efficiency! Production efficiency…
We’ll just cut it out.

Since I’ve already disassembled it once, I’m feeling pretty confident.

This is how it should be.
Taking nearly two days like last time makes no sense.

That’s almost trauma-level stuff. When removing it, it’s good to work with the possibility in mind that it might not come out. Don’t you think?

The grease was in great condition with plenty of it.

I’ll pull it out with a wheel bearing puller.

I machine it a bit on the lathe to make it go in deeper.
After setting up this puller, I gently warm it with a torch and then drive it out from the back with a shaft.
It should work almost 100% of the time.

The manual-specified sliding hammer makes it hard to hold the arm body.
With this method, you can really remove it quickly and reliably, so I’d definitely recommend trying this gem out!

I’ll adjust the shims on the component parts first.

It’s faster to check for play in the inner components and adjust shims before assembling the arm.
Give it a try.

Once adjustment is complete, I’ll apply plenty of grease and assemble.

The pivot shaft is BITO R &D, hollow inside.

The GS1200SS/Inazuma 1200 100% always has a rusty pivot shaft.
It’s a good idea to source this beautiful shaft before starting the OH work (*´ω｀*)

I’ll use Honda OEM M10 bolts on the lower rear suspension.
Subtle but really nice.

I’ve also made the hose guide easy to attach and detach (*´ω｀*)

It all went smoothly and I’m satisfied (*´ω｀*)
