GSX1200S Inazuma 1200 Oil-Cooled Katana with Yoshimura ST-1 Cam Installation, FCC Clutch, Yoshimura Engine Cover, Step Kit, and more

The illustration style is quite fresh… what do you think?

So we’re replacing the cam, FCC, engine cover, and step, and if possible, the turn signals too…
This is a consultation.

As I’ve mentioned many times,
currently, work is booked for “June onwards” on a first-come, first-served basis.

Now, we’re making the cam sprocket into a long hole. (Paid service)

The assembly takes longer than the machining… quite the dilemma.
Someone asked me, “Wait, you’re doing this with a circular saw? Isn’t that a pain?”
And I was like,“Oh!”and got a bit flustered.

This blog occasionally contains subtly useful information mixed in.

Wow, it’s in remarkably clean condition. That feels great.
The oil temperature, oil pressure, and oil maintenance must be well managed.

Using an angled driver is quite effective for tight spots.

A 1/4-inch bit interchangeable type is the most practical and easy to use.

Even during oil changes when it’s “hot hot,” you can convert to 3/8 and just loosen it.
Let’s work smart and efficiently with a bit of ingenuity.

What I use is“CARBCLIK90”but it seems hard to get?

And we’re replacing the rocker arms with new ones too~♪

The oil-cooled version doesn’t need to be straddled even if the cam chain drops, so we don’t hang it.
Not that it matters even if you do straddle it…

We’re replacing the cam chain slider (front).
The rear can’t be replaced without splitting the case…

It has metal inside so it doesn’t matter, but it’s already rock hard and full of cracks.

Even if we do a full engine overhaul down to the lower end, if sliders and cam chains (high-lift) are discontinued, we have to reuse them… this is the reality that we can’t do a thorough overhaul like we used to.

This new softness is the best~
Even if it’s just for show, you’d want to replace it along with the cam.

For its era, this is a well-designed cam chain tensioner.
Compact and excellent~

It’s automatic, but sometimes it won’t push.
In those cases, if you push from the back“Click”you can adjust it too.

And then we warp ahead and the cam installation is complete (*´ω`*)

We’ve adjusted the valve timing to match Yoshimura’s settings and we’re done.
We made a mistake ordering the head cover gasket, so we can’t put the cover on yet…

For now…

(*´ω`*)Oil-cooled camshafts are inexpensive, you know

Compared to Kawasaki’s ground cams, you’d be surprised…
Less than half the price…
