This should be pretty much done now… I’m hoping nothing goes wrong.
I’ll start by checking the front end.
The shaft wouldn’t come out without tapping—weird???
I wondered if that’s just how TZRs are, but that can’t be right.
There was a burr on the thin spacer that was catching.
Now it slides right out.
The bearings and wheel and tire runout should be fine.
The speedometer gear is pretty loaded with grease, so I’ll clean it up nicely.
Cleaning a spot like this probably won’t make much difference…
But it’s the thought that counts.
I want to use parts as much as I can—that’s the spirit.
I’ll clean and lubricate the speedometer cable.
It had turned into grease, so the timing was perfect.
While I was at it with the coolant change, I replaced the cap too.
Since there’s some overlap, I cleaned and lubricated areas I hadn’t looked at yet.
The air filter was clean, so I left it as is.
I made a part like this
High-shear epoxy adhesive
This stuff really works. I find it incredibly helpful (‘ω’)ノ
Just a little more fine-tuning and we’re done.
