It’s been a while since we’ve had this in.
We ordered the battery, but due to scheduling and time constraints, things got held up.
It’s been sitting for a bit, so I figured we’d probably need to tear down the carburetor…
That’s what I was thinking, but…
We’ll swap it out for a reliable GEL battery (we just recently started carrying them).
We applied tape and nut sponge.
This prevents forgetting the year of use and keeps nuts from coming loose.
This slightly sketchy Amazon battery charger is surprisingly easy to read and works great.
It’s amazing it’s ranked number one—
Even if you think it’s been sitting for a long time, it’s a good idea to drain the gas from the carburetor and check first.
When we drained it, we found— “Oh, it’s not varnished!”
We swapped in some fresh fuel, did a few dry cranks to circulate a bit of oil, and then started it up!
“Brrrrroooo~”
It fired right up— so grateful!
Going back a bit, we also drained the engine oil as a precaution.
There’s a chance gasoline got mixed in.
We also replaced the brake fluid as a precaution.
We cleaned up the cover too.
All that’s left is a test ride, and if everything checks out, we’re done!
