Grip replacement is honestly a job I really dislike.
• Adhesive takes a long time to cure
• Adhesive bonding isn’t always reliable. (The grip can spin.)
• You have to clean both the handlebar and grip during replacement.
We’ve used anti-slip tape before, but we recently switched to the thinnest version of 3M SAFETY-WALK anti-slip tape here at Decoboco.
It works really well!

This is what I use. But for a regular user, you probably won’t need this much.
This tape is extremely thin, so it’s flexible and works really well.
Since it comes 50 mm wide, I cut it in half to use it.
Cut it down to 25 mm and use a KING JIM label writer trimmer RT36W to round the corners, which makes it less likely to peel off and looks better (even though you can’t see it).
If needed, you could also apply another piece on the opposite side at 180 degrees.
Of course, the grip will bulge out 0.8 mm where you apply the tape. I don’t think it’s noticeable enough to worry about.
• Grip replacement is faster
• If it grips well, you can still swap it out next time
It would be nice if there were a good tape available in smaller quantities.
