Wow… really… it’s amazing.
Last year’s typhoon drove it into a wall, and that’s when we noticed the center stand was bent.
It still works, but… it comes forward and that’s scary.
It’s a bit of a hassle, so here’s the plan: heat it with induction and bend it back!

We could have made it bright red, but the fit wasn’t good, so we ended up removing it.
Once we took it off, we could really see it was severely twisted…
That kind of instantaneous force is incredible.

Our shop hates fire equipment, so we don’t have oxygen or acetylene.
That’s why we usually get by with this.
For bending iron, stainless steel, or aluminum pipes and rods, it has more than enough power.
Having one of these around helps you get through a lot of situations.
We managed to bend it back into shape. One problem solved… or so we thought.
It was a bit too close to the swingarm, so we heated it again and made an adjustment.
I blended it in with gun coat.
Gun coat is really convenient because you don’t have to buy spray cans.
The pipe is slightly crushed, but since the pressure is applied evenly, it should be fine.
I also painted the various parts while I was at it.
I have to mix it again… this batch turned out nice too. It’s always a tough call.
The air filter is a bit dusty, so we’ll replace it.
In Deco-mainte, we also check
• Rim width
• Tire size
• Manufacturing date
• Wheel and tire runout
.
But honestly, knowing all that doesn’t help much…
Let’s clean the chain, oil it, and clean the inside too.
If you spray No-Touch inside the fender and wipe it, it gets really clean.
Let’s check the rear axle runout too.
*I’ve rarely seen a working bike with rear runout of 0/100.
The chain is pulling on it hard!
The rear wheel bearing should be fine.
We polished the rear support again this time.
