
Let’s replace the cam. The standard one is also OEM for the GSX-R1100 K/L. The IN and EX are discontinued. You can see the difference in valve overlap.

The cam and rocker arm appear to have WPC coating. They clean up nicely and feel smooth and pleasant.

This one looks like DLC coating.

We check and clean, then reassemble. I completely forgot to include photos of the old one.
Both the cam and rocker are in great condition, and the engine internals were very clean.

Since the engine is still installed, it’s tricky to mount the dial gauge in an ideal spot, and we end up having to start over from TDC after bumping the position rod. It’s frustrating.

Assembly is complete, and the cranking feels slightly smoother—though that might just be my imagination.

We combine four readings across three separate graphs.

The vacuum hose is broken and blocked. It should be fine. We took it for a test ride earlier, and after a bit more checking we’ll be done.
