The other day, we received a request for a flat-rate motorcycle inspection, Deco-mainte, and new tech oil change on a GSX1100S that had already passed inspection.
These Brembo switches are a pain to remove and install. Since they’re RACING parts, there’s not much we can do about it. There was some corrosion.
The clutch side had old grease that had seized up, and the lever body side had opened up with increased play, so we adjusted the clearance.
The side stand grease had also aged considerably. It moves so much better now.
Since there’s no groove to collect grease, it flows away and corrodes.
The brake side also had light corrosion. I didn’t know you had to remove the rear suspension to access it.
External lubrication works, but if you remove it, clean it, and lubricate it, it moves so much more smoothly.
