Finally, I made it to Sensoji Temple for a New Year’s visit, though a bit late. The Nakamise shopping street is bustling as usual today.
Sensoji Temple has an overwhelming presence. It’s beautifully lit up at night too.
Even though it’s a weekday, I can still feel the lingering New Year’s atmosphere as I move forward.

My prayers are for “health and safety.” I’m at an age where I don’t expect a stroke of luck, but rather feel strongly that “steady effort is what matters most.”

At Sensoji Temple, the fortune-telling works by drawing a numbered chopstick from inside a tea canister, then pulling a slip of paper from the corresponding drawer.
Shaking it horizontally instead of vertically and rotating it seems to mix things up better, which might be a good approach.
