Unit number one arrived the other day.

The name sounds impressive, but it feels cheap—I guess you get what you pay for?
I took it apart, added an attachment, and connected it to a digital synchro tester, but…
No response…
As I suspected, it doesn’t generate enough vacuum.
Even using it standalone, the gauge reading changes depending on the angle.
I have to measure all four carburetors without changing the angle.
Rejected!

Putting aside my disappointment, I’m taking on the challenge with the STE Synchro Tester!
I bought the real German-made one.
That weird junk-looking thing next to it is a slug I made today.
I tried welding a plate to some titanium exhaust pipe, but… it came out pretty rough, like a slug…
It went terribly wrong. I’m discouraged. I really need more practice.
I ran out of argon for the back gas, so I went with just the gas lens.
Does skipping the back gas really produce this much spatter? No good.
Burned up…
Will this let me dial in synchronization easily at extreme angles?
I have to say, the result was pretty disappointing.
